Auburn remains unanimous No. 1; Vandy enters Top 25 poll

The top five spots in this week’s Associated Press Top 25 poll remain unchanged, with Auburn still the unanimous No. 1 selection, while St. John’s and Memphis made the biggest moves forward after each climbed five spots.

Auburn (18-1) held onto the top spot after it escaped with a 53-51 victory over Tennessee on Saturday. Duke (17-2), Iowa State (17-2), Alabama (17-3) and Florida (18-2) round out the top five.

With its defeat, Tennessee (17-3) fell two spots to No. 8, while Houston (16-3) and Michigan State (17-2) each moved up one spot to Nos. 6 and 7, respectively. No. 9 Marquette (17-3) and No. 10 Purdue (16-5) each moved up one spot.

St. John’s (17-3) jumped to the No 15 spot, while Memphis (16-4) climbed to No. 19. Ole Miss (15-5) fell seven spots to No. 23, while two-time defending champion UConn (14-6) dropped six spots to No. 25 after a 77-72 loss to unranked Xavier on Saturday.

No. 24 Vanderbilt (16-4) entered the Top 25 for the first time since Dec. 7, 2015.
