Conference tournament roundup: Wofford, Troy earn NCAA bids

Jackson Sivills scored 20 points for Wofford, which erased a six-point second-half deficit to beat Furman 92-85 on Friday in the Southern Conference championship game at Asheville, N.C.

All five starters scored in double figures for the Terriers (19-15), who are heading to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2019.

Sivills sank a 3-pointer with 1:26 remaining, giving Wofford an 84-83 lead. The Terriers scored the game’s next six points at the foul line to pull away.

PJay Smith Jr. paced the Paladins (25-9) with 27 points and seven assists. Nick Anderson added 15 points.

Troy 94, Arkansas State 81

A 16-2 second-half run sent the Trojans to a victory over the Red Wolves in the Sun Belt Conference final at Pensacola, Fla.

Troy (23-10) was down 66-58 midway through the second half before the surge that included eight points from Tayton Conerway, who finished with a game-high 21. Teammate Myles Rigsby added 20 points, and Thomas Dowd amassed 14 points and nine rebounds.

The Trojans are NCAA Tournament-bound for the first time in eight years.

Dyondre Dominguez led Arkansas State (24-10) with 19 points, and Derrion Ford had 17.
