Denver Nuggets stars Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray are sitting out Wednesday’s road game against the Los Angeles Lakers due to injuries.
Jokic is dealing with a left ankle impingement and a right elbow contusion. Murray has a sprained right ankle.
Both players also sat out Monday’s 114-105 road victory over the Golden State Warriors.
“You listen to your body,” Nuggets coach Michael Malone said. “I have to, as a head coach, trust our players as well as trust the training staff.”
Jokic, a three-time NBA MVP, has matched his career high of 29 triple-doubles. He is averaging 29.1 points, 12.8 rebounds and 10.3 assists in 62 games.
Murray is averaging 21.5 points, 6.1 assists and 3.8 rebounds in 61 games for the Nuggets (44-25).
The Lakers (42-25) remain without LeBron James (left groin strain). He last played on March 8.
